Tennessee Multicultural Chamber of Commerce to Honor Local Chattanooga Pioneers during Annual Event
Chattanooga, Tennessee - The Tennessee Multicultural Chamber of Commerce, formerly Chattanooga African American Chamber of Commerce, will host their annual fundraising reception and dinner Thursday, June 19th at the Chattanooga Convention and Trade Center. The reception begins at 6:00 p.m. with dinner immediately following at 7:00 p.m.
This year’s event will follow in the tradition of last year’s banquet as we honor contributions made by Chattanooga pioneers in the areas of sports and entertainment.
“At a time when its easy to assume that talent in the sports or entertainment arena equals success, we wanted to take the time to reflect on the things – and people – that laid the cornerstones for our current superstars”, states Sherrie Gilchrist, President of the Tennessee Multicultural Chamber of Commerce. “We certainly hope that the public and private sectors of the Chattanooga community come out to support the event”, added Ms. Gilchrist. “We stand in awe of these individuals and we are excited to be able to tell their stories.” The work of the TMCC will be highlighted as well throughout the evening.
The mission of the Tennessee Multicultural Chamber of Commerce, is to work with all businesses identified by the federal government as a protected class who need technical assistance and information related to procurement opportunities, employment, certification, access to capital, business development, etc.; as well as acting as a conduit between public and private entities looking to expand their participation with disadvantaged business enterprises (DBE).
